Does it make sense to carry out more research on a new television purchase than your new home?

While our inspectors are on site, they perform the following:

  1. Examine the heating system
  2. Soffits, Fascia, Eavestroughs and Attic Ventilation – are they in place and adequate?
  3. Insulation – Is it adequate and properly installed? Is the vapour barrier in place?
  4. Electrical System – Is it safe? Was it professionally installed? Does it need servicing, upgrading or replacement?
  5. Foundation – is the foundation water tight? Cracked? Shifting or deteriorating?
  6. Plumbing system.
  7. Structural soundness – is the property standing up to the test of time? What areas need attention? Is the structure stable?
  8. Windows and Exterior doors – are they operating properly, in good condition, weatherstripping and latch mechanisms?
  9. Roofing – Does it need repair or replacing? This can be a very costly item and you want to be aware of it.
  10.  Furnace 20-25 years
